Description

Pine is classified as a softwood, which denotes its origin from coniferous trees, typically characterized by needle-like leaves and seed-bearing cones, often referred to as ‘evergreens.’ In broad terms, pine wood exhibits a creamy, yellowish hue in its sapwood, which is the outer, living portion of the tree, while the heartwood, the inner, non-living part, tends to have a brownish coloration.This wood’s properties make it a very popular material because of its widespread availability and the easy cultivation process. Pine wood is commonly used to build cabinetry, furniture, panelling, window frames, roofing, and floors. It is also used for framing, glue laminated beams, veneer, plywood and lining.
